The Trials of Apollo The Hidden Oracle - Rick Riordan

'My name is Apollo.
I used to be a God.
But that was before I was cast down from Olympus (a terrible misunderstanding) and woke up in a New York dumpster.
I persuaded Percy Jackson to give me a lift to Camp Half-Blood. But the place is in chaos. Demigods are going missing and the all-seeing Oracles have fallen to a mysterious enemy known only a as 'the Beast'.
I figured that regarding Zeus's favour would involve a series of harrowing trials, and I was right (I usually am). My first task? Protect the final Oracle, hidden away for millennia. If I fail, the Beast will control the future, but worse - I'll be stuck as a teenage boy, forever ...'

'In all my immortal life I never before crash-landed in a dumpster.
I'm not even sure how it happened.
I simply woke up falling. Skyscrapers spiraled in and out of view. Flames streamed off my body. I tried to fly. I tried to change into a cloud or teleport across the world or do a hundred other things that should have been easy for me, but I just kept falling. I plunged into a narrow canyon between two buildings and BAM
Is anything sadder than the sound of a god hitting a pile of garbage bags?'

Another magical and amazing book by our beloved author Rick Riordan, which is related and a bit of a continuity of the Percy Jackson series which is amazing and I do recommend it, just as well as the Heroes if Olympus, which related to the PJ series as well and is just as magical.
Just like I mentioned before, I love all the books created by Riordan and therefore I wish not to spoil the story, so I will leave the story to discover for yourself.

Magnus Chase and The Hammer of Thor - Rick Riordan

'My name is Magnus Chase. Two months ago I died fighting a fire giant and woke up in hotel Valhalla as one of Odin's warriors. Time for a rest? I wish.
When i met Otis, an informant with a lead on Thor's missing hammer, all i get is the name 'Provincetown' before a wolf-masked assassin takes him out and warns me to stay away.
Someone really doesn't want me to find the hammer, and even if I could it's rumoured to be underground, guarded by powerful magic.
But the giant armies are on the move, preparing to invade. If I don't find it, they'll ravange the Nine Worlds, starting with the streets of Boston.
There's just one person who could help. Someone who demands a very high price: the god's worst enemy, Loki.'

"The goat-assassin peered down at me from the peak of the roof. His features were obscured by a faceplate fashioned to resemble a snarling wolf. Of course a wolf. Everybody in the Nine Worlds loves wolves.
'Who - who are you?' I managed.
'Wrong question. The right question: are you prepared to lose your friends? If not, you should leave Thor's hammer lost'
He backed to the edge of the roof and toppled over.
Down below: no movement. no body. Something about the assassin has seemed very wrong ... yet very familiar.'

The book about the Norse mythology, is perfect for people who love that or all mythologies. The writer Rick Riordan is one of the best writers I've read the books of. I have read all of his books and i loved every single one of them. The books not only teach you a lot but alsi entertain you in a way no other book has.
This is the second book from the series of Magnus Chase, and the second one is just as good as the first one.
I really recommend these books because the narrative is awsome and the plot is even better. I hope you love it as much as I did.

Falling Fast - Sophie McKenzie

'When River auditions for a part in a inter-school performance of Romeo and Juliet, she finds herself falling for Flynn, the boy playing Romeo.
River believes in romantic love, and she can't wait to experience it. But does Flynn see things the same way?
The path of true love never did run smooth...'

It's one of the romantic books that's just good to read if you're upset to make you feel better, but also it's a very fun book that is just good for everything. I really enjoyed reading this book, mostly because of how simple it was. I recommend the book.
Thereis a sequel to this so if you liked this book i do recommend it.

Gone - Michael Grant

'299 Hours 54 Minutes.
Suddenly it's a world without adults and norml has crashed and burned. When life as you know it ends at 15, everything changes.
A small town in southern California: In the blink of an eye everyone over the age of 15 disappears and no one knows why.
Cut off from the outside world, those that are left are trapped, and there's no help on the way. Chaos riules the streets. Gangs begin to form. Sides are chosen - strong or weak. Cruel or humane.
A new world order is rising and, even scarier, some survivors have power - mutant power that no one has ever seen before ...'

There is a sighn at the back of the book saying about the massive content of cruelty and violence. It has contents of sci-fi, but the story develops really nicely. It shows the point of view of several people which is a very good effect of the description of the story. The way it develops through the first and continueing through the other books, is amazingly specific and really good.
Overall I loved the book because of the story because of how there are several justifications to everything. I really recommend this story to anyone who likes action or sci-fi books because this one is one of the best books i have ever read and I hope that you like it too.

The dangerous days of Danie X - James Patterson

'Daniel X works alone.
Having watched from the shadows as the brutal murder of his own parents unfolded before him, he has been forced to make his own way in a dark and unforgiving world with a heavy task handed to him.
Daniel's father was an alien hunter, working his way through a fearsome 'wanted' list of aliens intent on seeking control and wreaking devastation. Following his parents' sudden deaths, Daniel faces an uncertain future. He knows little about his fmily or where he coes from but a few things are clear: he has inherited the list from his father and with it , a unique ability to create anything that he needs including sone very devoted friends friends to help him along the way.
His ultimate aim is to exact revange against number one on his list: his parents' murder. But first he must target the others: each more sinister and gruesome than the last.'

I personally didnt like this book because when I read it i didnt get into the story and after some chapters, I just really got bored and I felt like the story wasn't going anywhere. Now that might be because I'm not that much into the whole alien and that pure sci-fi stuff that goes on in that book. Also when I was raeding it felt like something with the narrative was wrong, the writing was so bold that at some points its was quite hard to read.
But if you are still interested, I'm not stopping anyone. I don't think the book is bad, I just think that it might not be suitable for everyone.

House of Secrets - Chris Coloumbus and Ned Vizzini

'When Brendan, Cordelia and Nell move in to Kristoff House they have no idea that they are about to unleash the dark magic locked within.
Now the Walker kids must battle against deadly pirates, bloodthirsty warriors and a bone-crunching giant. If they fail they will never see their parents again and a crazed witch will take over the world.
No pressure then...'

I truly really liked this book because of the adventures and all the kinds of sci-fi like stories involved. It has it's positives and negatives involving the plot and the way the characters were chosen, but personally i really enjoyed the story and I do recommend it.

Also if you liked the first book I recommend the other book, which is like a second part of the story.

And if your polish and want to read this there is a polish version which i have read that is written very similar to the original in English.

I hope you enjoy it!

The little prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

THE LITTLE PRINCE - ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPÉRY

'When you look at the sky at night, because I'll be living on one of them, because I'll be laughing on one of them, to you it will sound as if all the stars are laughing.'

'A pilot who has crash-landed in the dessert awakes to see an extraordinary little boy. 'Please', asks the stranger, 'will you draw me a little lamb!' Baffled by the little prince's incessant questioning, the pilot pulls out his pencil, and starts to draw. As the little prince's curiosity takes then further on their journey, the pilot is able to piece together an understanding of the tiny planet from which the prince has come and of his incredible travels across the universe.'

'All grown-ups were children once (but most of them have forgotten).'

'Once upon a time there was a little prince who lived on a planet not much bigger than himself and was in need of a friend.'

'This is my secret. It's very simple. You only see clearly with your heart. The most important things are invisible to the eyes.'

I avoided this book for some time because I always thought that I wasn't smart enough to read it and understand it. To some extend that was true. But if you have a big and open mind, anyone can understand what's really underneath the meaning.
It's an incredible story, that explains all there is to know, everything that is meaningful, in a way not a lot of people can understand, and that is why I wouldn't recommend  this story to someone who after the first page or the description of the book at the back cover or inside, don't understand or are a bit confused because in the end you might not truly understand the beauty and the extreme sense of this book.
